Alumnae Offices and Duties

PRESIDENT: The president is the official representative of the Alumnae Chapter and presides at all meetings and social affairs.  She is an ex-officio member of every committee except the Nominating Committee.  At the installation, she introduces and installs the new officers and provides each officer and Chairwoman with a list of her respective duties.

MEMBERSHIP & PROGRAMMING VP: Presides in the absence of the President and performs her duties in her absence.  She plans programs for meetings when desired.  She schedules and secures hostesses and locations for all meetings, and she prepares the schedule of the chapter's activities.  She works with the Financial VP and the President in preparing the annual budget.

ADMINISTRATIVE VP: Acts as secretary at all meetings, keeping a correct report of proceedings in books belonging to Alumnae chapter.  She keeps the chapter roll and records the attendance at all meetings.

FINANCIAL VP: Collects and takes charge of all Wichita Alumnae Chapter fees and funds.  She makes disbursements of funds that have been duly authorized by the Chapter or Executive Board.  At the first Executive Board meeting of each new chapter year, the Financial VP presents a typed financial statement of the year's prior activity.  She keeps accounts in books belonging to the Chapter.  These yearly accounts are submitted to an auditor after the year ending July 31.  The Financial VP notifies members of the dues deadline.  Assisted by the President and the VP for Membership and Programming, the Financial VP prepares an annual budget to be presented to the Chapter for approval at the September meeting.

ALUMNAE RECCOMENDATIONS CHAIRWOMAN: Responsible for all recruitment recommendations of girls from Wichita and surrounding areas to all Greek-letter chapters.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY: Conducts the Chapter correspondance as directed by the President.  Also send materials to the Crescent Editor by the proper deadlines.

 PANHELLENIC DELEGATE: Represents the Chapter on the City Panhellenic Board and keeps the Chapter informed of all inter-sorority activities.  She accepts officer or committee responsibility as rotation requires.

ALTERNATE PANHELLENIC DELEGATE: Performs the duties of the Delegate in her absence or disability and attends all Panhellenic meetings.  She accepts office or committee responsibility as rotation requires.

FOUNDERS DAY & SENIOR CELEBRATION CHAIRWOMAN: Plans both events with the help of alumnae and collegiate volunteers.  She will work directly with the President and the Financial VP to establish a budget for each event.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE CHAIRWOMAN: With the assistance of a committee of volunteers, plans social events for the Wichita Alumnae Chapter.  She works with the Financial VP and the President in preparing the annual budget.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & TECHNOLOGY CHAIRWOMAN: Repsonsible for all publicity concerning the activities of the Alumnae Chapter.  In addition, she distributes the periodic email to the members and maintains authorized website platform for the Wichita Alumnae Chapter.

NEWSLETTER EDITOR: Responsible for compiling and editing a newsletter or flyer to be sent to all members.  She works with the Financial VP and the President in preparing the annual budget.

SISTERLINK CHAIRWOMAN: Maintains a file of local member and community resources.  She informs alumnae and collegians of the international and local SisterLink service and encourages its use.  She provides transfer cards for any alumnae moving into other areas.  She may work with alumnae chapter volunteers to plan a presentation to the collegiate chapter on topics related (but not limited to) SisterLink, careers, resume writing, interviewing skills, etc.
